Frequently Asked Questions

At Relentless Positivity Fitness for Women in Huntsville, Alabama, we help women build strength, confidence, and community in a supportive environment.

Many of the women who come to us are over 50. Some haven't exercised in years. Some have bad knees, stiff backs, or concerns about menopause and aging. Others are simply tired of trying to figure everything out on their own.

Whatever brought you here, we want you to feel comfortable asking questions

Am I too old to start strength training?

Absolutely not!

Whether you're 45, 55, 65, or 75, building strength can make a meaningful difference in your life.

Strength training helps you maintain muscle, improve balance, support bone health, and make everyday activities easier.

You don't have to be young to get stronger. You just have to start where you are.

Our goal isn't to make you feel 25 again. It's to help you feel amazing at the age you are right now.

Can I exercise if I have bad knees, arthritis, or an old injury?

Yes!

We regularly work with women who have knee discomfort, joint stiffness, previous injuries, and other physical limitations.

Our coaches can modify exercises to match your abilities and comfort level. That might mean adjusting your range of motion, using a chair for support, or choosing a different movement altogether.

You won't be pressured to do something that hurts.

If you have a significant injury, recent surgery, or a medical condition that affects exercise, we may recommend getting clearance from your healthcare provider first.

We believe workouts should help your body, not punish it.

What if I'm the least fit woman in the class?

Then you're exactly where you need to be.

Seriously.

You don't need to lose weight, build endurance, or get in shape before joining us. That's what we're here to help you do!

Everyone starts somewhere, and everyone in our classes has different abilities and goals.

You might be standing next to someone who's been exercising for 10 years. That's okay. You'll each work at your own appropriate level.

Nobody is keeping score. Nobody is judging you.

We're too busy cheering you

What if I haven't worked out in 10 or 20 years?

Welcome back!

You'd be surprised how many women have walked through our doors after years, sometimes decades, away from regular exercise.

We don't expect you to know the exercises, understand the equipment, or keep up with anyone else.

Our coaches will show you what to do, help you choose appropriate weights, and guide you through the workout.

You don't need experience.

You need a starting point.

What does a typical workout look like?

Our workouts generally last 45–50 minutes and focus on building real-world strength, improving fitness, and helping you move better.

Depending on the day, you'll work on strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness.

We use equipment such as dumbbells, resistance bands, kettlebells, and TRX suspension trainers.

And here's something you might appreciate:

No mandatory burpees.

No yelling.

No punishment workouts.

We're not interested in seeing how exhausted we can make you.

We're interested in helping you become stronger and healthier.

Will strength training make me bulky?

No, but you might gain a lot of awesome :)

For most women, especially after menopause, maintaining muscle becomes increasingly important.

Strength training can help improve body composition, maintain independence, and make daily activities easier.

Think carrying groceries, getting up from a chair, lifting luggage, or playing with your grandchildren.

We're building strength for your life, not preparing you for a bodybuilding competition.

Can I still lose weight after menopause?

Yes, although it may require a different approach than what worked in your 20s or 30s.

Changes in hormones, muscle mass, sleep, and daily activity can all affect weight management.

We focus on sustainable habits, including strength training, regular movement, adequate protein, and consistency.

We also encourage women to look beyond the scale.

More energy, better strength, improved mobility, and feeling confident in your clothes are all meaningful victories.

What if I'm nervous about walking into a gym?

We understand.

Walking into an unfamiliar fitness environment can be intimidating, especially if you've had a bad gym experience before.

That's one reason we keep our classes small and emphasize personal attention.

We want to know your name, understand your goals, and help you feel like you belong.

You won't be left standing in the corner wondering what to do.

Our goal is for you to leave your first class thinking, "I can actually do this!"

Will I be sore sometimes?

Most people feel some soreness for the first week or two. After that point, it is slight to moderate. It’s part of the process that lets you improve!

Is there a refund policy?

Money back guarantee! If you aren't 100% satisfied with what we offer, you get all of your money back. Spoiler alert- you won't want it back :)

How much does it cost?

Our standard membership is $149-199 per month.

That includes coached group workouts in a supportive, women-focused environment.

You're not simply paying for access to equipment.

You're investing in professional coaching, structured workouts, accountability, and a community that wants you to succeed.

We also occasionally offer introductory programs so you can experience RPF before making a longer commitment.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No.

We believe you should stay because you love the coaching, the community, and the results you're working toward. Not because you're trapped in a contract.

What should I bring to my first workout?

Comfortable workout clothes, supportive athletic shoes, and water.

That's it!

You don't need fancy equipment or expensive workout clothes.

And you definitely don't need to know what you're doing before you arrive.

That's our job.

How do I get started?

The easiest way is to reach out and tell us a little about yourself.

We'll help you find an appropriate class, answer your questions, and explain your options for getting started.

You don't need to be confident, strong, or in shape before contacting us.

You just need to be willing to take that first step.

You can call or text 256.468.7146 or email [email protected] and we can take it from there!

You Don't Have to Figure This Out Alone.

If you're a woman over 50 who wants to get stronger, feel better, and have more confidence in what your body can do, we'd love to meet you.

You deserve a fitness program that meets you where you are, challenges you appropriately, and makes you feel welcome.
